When I have a daughter, I am going to tell her about all the boys who broke my heart. About all the tears I cried over boys who wouldn’t have shed them for me. I’m going to tell her stories of my first time, and my first time with her father. I’m going to tell her about the first time he said he loved me, and the night he proposed. I’m going to tell her about the day he made me start believing again. I’m going to tell her why I fell in love with him. I’m going to tell her the way he swept me off my feet. I’m going to tell her that it doesn’t matter who she loves, as long as she puts her whole heart in it. I’m going to tell her to never be afraid of the unknown, never to settle, and to listen to her heart more than anything. I’m going to tell her that she can be anything she wants to be, and that I will never stop believing in her. When I have a daughter, I am going to make her my world.
